Preparing Your Audition Sheet Music

  • The front page should include the title of the song, the show it's from, and composer & lyricist

  • make sure you have the key signature & time signature on all three bars

  • Minimize page turns

  • Get rid of any music you're not going to use by copy & pasting or crossing out

  • write "thank you" at the end

  • clearly mark the intro -- should be one bar

  • Speak clearly, confidently, and graciously to the pianist. Prepare your tempo in advance. When you're nervous, it's easy to go too fast. Snapping or tapping your leg can be helpful just keep it out of the pianists' face
